Leasehold Enfranchisement

Under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, the long Leaseholders in a block of flats can compel the Freeholder to sell them the Freehold collectively. Most Leaseholders do this so that they can have tighter control over the management and maintenance of their block and are able to extend their own individual leases as they wish.

There are various requirements and Northwood Carter can assist with:-

  • Preparation of Section 13 compliant plans together with lease and floor plans
  • Advice on vertical separation
  • Advice of available floor area percentage for commercial and residential occupancies
